Babbles of a Procrastinating Grad Student

There's always so many things that I should write about, since they're generally kind of significant Going Ons in my life, but I never want to.  I'm not a great writer, so I don't ever feel like I could do justice discussing the current Budget Bill (my impression: it basically says a big 'fuck you' to the environment, democracy, and the Canadian people [especially those outside of the baby boomer generation], all in the name of short term economic gain and the next election), or the Canadian Cancer Societies Relay for Life that I joined up with this past weekend (my impression: exhausting and absolutely exhilerating, and I'm so glad I joined up).  Just the thought of going into more detail than the above, even if that does sort of sum up my feelings nicely, brings out the Procrastination like no ones business. 

On that note, guess who managed to clean her entire apartment, including vaccuuming, dusting, dishes, finding room for shit, and filling up 2 bags of garbage in just over an hour?  That would be me.  :D  Place is tidy enough for the people coming to view my apartment this afternoon. Although I guess I ought to go deal with that pile of books I've been ignoring all day.  Better than trying to force out anymore thinky crap on this journal!

As I mentioned in a previously, I'm staying at a friend of mine's place, and today is the first day I've really had to just relax and work.  I'm still plugging away at my edits, and part of the reason it's taking me so bloody long is that I can't handle working on them over a long period straight.  I get really annoyed with some of the stupidly nitpicky edits, and then I need to walk away (or click to the internet).

Today I've basically alternated between editing and cleaning.  My friend, goodness help him, is a confirmed bachelor, and not the tidiest person in the world!  But that's okay because he's a great guy, and I'm glad to clean up for him as a thank you for letting me stay here.  I like cleaning when there's a noticeable difference when you're done!

After finding the kitchen, I've also started cooking, which is always fun.  Mmm...perogies...
