My Mediterranean brain doesn't even begin to comprehend those temperatures. Anywhere below -14 goes in the cathegory of "too fucking bloody cold"... and that is only because I live in England now, a few years ago I wouldn't consider even -3 as an environment in which humans could dwell.
I'm seriously giggling at this! I love our winters here. Living in Southern Ontario the last couples years was depressing because the winters seemed so mild. I think it only got down to -20 once in two years, and winter itself only lasted maybe 3 months? I like when it's colder than -20, and I'm used to nearly 6 months of winter.
My favourite winter story is about the year it was hovering around -52 C, and we were rooting for it to get colder because that was the record and we really wanted to break it. The following week, when it warmed up to -44-ish, it seemed so warm out! :D
Although I'll admit, it was lovely to have a real spring and fall the last couple years. Those usually last about a week total in Manitoba (or seems like it sometimes). Still doesn't beat a real winter, though.
