bare_bear: Caution sign showing a monster leaning over a cliff to eat a car (don't ask)

Ugh. I'm trying to devote this afternoon/evening to my thesis, and I have no motivation to do it, despite the rising panic and stress about the fact that I hope to be finished by September, and I'm way behind where I should be. Urgh.

I've had a re-occurring nightmare the last year or so of being attacked by zombies; rather, preparing for an attack. The dreams are always different, and I don't actually see the zombies, but there's the knowledge that they're out there and will attack soon. After telling a friend about them, and speculating what they could mean, I finally looked it up. Two different site both suggested that if you're being attacked by zombies in your dream, it means you are under a lot of stress at home. In regards to my dreams, I interpreted this to mean that I'm preparing for some upcoming stress. And by 'stress', I think this means 'thesis'.

Last night (and this morning), I had a really strange dream. Weirdly, it started off with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger trying to get into this old decrepit castle, and a giant snake like being with a huge red (or purple? it's kind of fuzzy now) cartoon-like round head with a squat top hat popped out of the top of it and tried to eat them. Weird, I know. But then it moved on, where vampire-like creatures were biting people, and those people would slowly lose who they are and eventually transform into the vampire creatures themselves (they were physically different, but my only impression is a deep-fried beer-battered fish-stick with fangs and evil eyes).

This whole thing might sound really funny, except that it was horrifying in the dream. I wasn't me, but I was someone else. And different characters from books and shows I've seen were in it, so even though I wasn't encountering people like my family and friends, these weren't exactly random strangers in my dream (although some were). So seeing Remus Lupin struggling as he lost who he was completely and permanently become a monster (as opposed as only during the full mood), or watching an older couple (can't remember who they were now) become divided as one is bitten and the other flees, is absolutely horrifying.

I remember that whoever I was faked it, for a while. She used make-up to mock up some bite marks, and act as one of those transforming (there was little to no negativity, they smiled absently, and was excessively polite to everyone). I even remember she came across several others who were doing the same, but everyone who was was terrified of being caught, so didn't even want to band together, just in case they were mistaken. And I remember feeling absolutely helpless and hopeless, because they were everywhere, and I didn't know if we'd ever be saved.

Cripes, it was a long dream, too. There are so many details that I remember, I could go on for ages about it. And that's strange, because I rarely remember even dreaming, never mind remember the majority of the dream in such detail too.

Granted, I think most of this dream can be blamed on watching the Doctor Who episode, the Vampires of Venice last night right before going to bed, especially since the vampires were actually alien fish-creatures. But based on this dream, I think I can safely say that the zombies are starting to attack. And it's true, I'm stressed right out about my thesis, to the point where I'm losing sleep over it.

I think my main problem is I'm floundering right now, and desperately need to get organized. :P I've got a couple goals for today, mostly stuff that needs to be done before tomorrow morning, but I also hope to get a few chunks of chapter 1 done (basic background information). I just need to...do it. :) Wish me luck.
