The Middle Passage

I came across this beautiful quilt on my f-list this morning, and I seriously almost cried. The story she threaded through the whole quilt about the slavery of her ancestors and the resources (both human and natural) taken from Africa was so...painful and thought-provoking. It's hard to remember the history, but it's something that should never be forgotten, and urban_quilter reminds us in such a beautiful way.
