A Turkey in the Freezer, a Turkey on the Couch. Which One Will Win?

So uh, I'm hosting a Thanksgivings Day dinner at my place on Monday. I even have a 12 lbs turkey sitting in my freezer. Now I just need to figure out what the heck to do with it...

This should be an interesting holiday.

Uh...good point. *pulls bird out of freezer* I'll stick it in the fridge for now, and maybe pull it out early on Monday to make sure it's thawed? If it is about 10 lbs (not 12 like I thought), at 6 hrs/lbs, uh, Monday morning is about 60 hours from now. *crosses fingers* I don't plan to put it on until about 11 or 12, so hopefully that works out fine.

Thanks for the push, I didn't even think about thawing time. Eeep!

Do you guys do any kind of Thanksgiving type holiday in the UK?

No, no Thanksgiving, the family holiday here is Christmas. At this time of the year we are getting ready for Hallowe'en and on the 5th of November we have Guy Fawkes night, but neither of these include family gatherings.
